Add Circuit City To The List Of Stores We Have Said Goodbye To Recently
After months of desperately trying to find a private buyer for it’s pathetic business, Circuit City has finally given in and decided to close all of its remaining 567 retail stores and liquidate its inventory. It really isn’t all too surprising, figuring that the company not only failed in its attempt to get the DIVX platform anywhere near the popularity of DVDs, but even cut out home appliances from its inventory selection in an attempt to boost profits to no avail. There have been numerous rumors of private equity firms interested in taking the company private in the past, but none of those plans worked out, and the current credit climate certainly did not help the company in its effort to stave off this final decision.
Now is possibly a good time for all of those who were still waiting for prices to come down even further before purchasing home audio/theater, computer, or personal gadgets. Most likely, the discounts will be very shallow at first, as Gordon Brothers (the of choice) attempts to milk as much from this event as possible. Even though it is risky when purchasing from companies that are liquidating their inventories, since of course you cannot return any defective item or any item you simply do not like. The good news, however, is that manufacturer warranties still apply to all new items as if they were purchased from a retailer that was operating normaCiy.
An interesting timeline depicting the demise of Circuit City was published on The Consumerist augmentation chicago breast gallery
Personally, I can’t say that I didn’t see this coming for many months, but you have to wonder what will happen to the 30,000+ employees that will be fired in the move. I’m curious if any of them had foreseen this event and made the appropriate plans for new employment or even have emergency funds on which to assist them once the process is complete. nasal flonase spray

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
